Cacheless ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our macOS application (requires macOS 15.0 or later).

Information We Collect

Cacheless collects minimal data to improve app quality and fix issues. We never access the contents of your files.

What we collect:

  • Anonymous usage events (via Mixpanel): which features are used, to help us improve the app. No personal information is attached.
  • Crash reports and error logs (via Sentry): technical details when the app crashes, to help us diagnose and fix bugs.
  • Device type and macOS version: to ensure compatibility.

What we never collect:

  • File names, paths, or contents from your scans
  • Personal documents or data
  • Any information that identifies you personally

Permissions

Cacheless requires the following system permissions to function:

  • Full Disk Access: Required to scan and identify cache files and temporary data across the system
  • File System Access: Required to read file metadata and safely delete selected files

These permissions are used solely to perform disk scanning and cleaning operations. No file contents or metadata are transmitted outside your device.

Third-Party Services

Cacheless uses the following third-party services:

  • Mixpanel — Anonymous usage analytics to understand how features are used and improve the app experience. Privacy Policy

Your file scan data and any files on your Mac are never shared with any third-party service.

Data Security

All application settings and preferences are stored locally using macOS's secure UserDefaults system. No data is transmitted to external servers.
